Inhabiting the Translational Space in Times of Artificial Intelligence Drawing on Translation Studies theory, this seminar will explore the encounter of human and artificial intelligence in the field of applied translation. A range of AI translation tools will be listed, thoroughly described and their efficacy analysed in different sectors and languages. The session is designed for professional translators, translation students, and language practitioners who wish to better understand how artificial intelligence is transforming the translation landscape. Participants will gain insights into current tools and are invited to join the discussion on the future of the profession in the age of intelligent technologies. Our Presenter - Dr Anna Gadd Dr Anna Gadd is an award-winning Italian, Spanish and Translation Studies (TS) lecturer and translator. Her experience spans over two decades and three countries: Italy, Spain and Australia. In 2014 she started teaching and coordinating units in the newly established Master of Translation Studies of The University of Western Australia (UWA) and in 2017 she launched the novel discipline of Spanish Studies. Dr Gadd has published extensively on TS and Second Language Acquisition. Her most recent research deals with AI and translation, Dante's translations and Mrs Dalloway in Italian.
