In a matter of weeks, we went from mostly face-to-face interpreting to predominantly remote interpreting (phone and video). Presenter 1 - Anna Kenny
Anna Kenny is a Polish Interpreter and a Professional Development Coordinator with NSW Health Care Interpreter Services. She holds a Master’s degree in Interpreting and Translation Pedagogy from Macquarie University. Anna has worked for HCIS for over 25 years. In her current position, she coordinates and facilitates training for health care interpreters across NSW. She has also taught interpreting at Macquarie University and developed medical interpreting resources for RMIT.
Presenter 2 - Tingting ChenTingting Chen is the Video Interpreting Project Lead at the Health Care Interpreter Service, Western Sydney Local Health District. She is responsible for a rapid roll-out of video interpreting in public health facilities in Western Sydney. Tingting has a Master’s Degree in TESOL from the University of New South Wales and a Postgraduate Diploma in Translation and Interpreting from Western Sydney University. She has a special interest in service improvement leveraging technology, and has worked on a number of projects resulting in improved access to healthcare for non-English-speaking clients.
