Learn how computer-assisted interpreting tools can help you optimise your preparations
.

The workshop provides a hands-on introduction to computer-assisted interpreting. It offers a comparative overview of the CAI tools InterpretBank, Interpreter's Help and Interplex, for glossary building, terminology extraction, glossary sharing and terminology memorisation. The last two tools offer a free version, while InterpretBank has a 14-day free trial version. So all participants can try them out during the workshop if they so wish. After attending the seminar, you will know how to select the best tool for your needs and how to use AI to speed up and optimise your assignment preparation.

Presenter: Bianca Prandi

Bianca Prandi is a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer in Interpreting Studies at the University of Innsbruck. She holds a PhD in Translation Studies from the University of Mainz. Her doctoral work explored the process of computer-assisted interpreting (CAI) through eye tracking and derived its methods from Translation Process Research.

Bianca has been a CAI tool trainer for several years and has taught workshops and seminars on this topic for professional associations and training institutions. She was a guest lecturer for the Certificate Course on Interpreting with new technologies at the Postgraduate Centre of the University of Vienna.
