Notice of Inaugural General Meeting

Tasmania Branch

Purpose:

Inaugural meeting to establish the Tasmania branch and elect a Branch Committee.

The National Council of AUSIT has agreed to a request by the Tasmania Sub-branch Committee, for Tasmania to become a branch of AUSIT in its own right rather than a sub-branch of the Victoria/Tasmania branch.

To implement this, an Inaugural General Meeting of the new Tasmania Branch will be held on Thursday 04 June 2020, commencing at 19:30, to which all financial AUSIT members resident in Tasmania are cordially invited.  (‘Financial’ membership – in any category – means having renewed membership for 2019–20, or having joined AUSIT during the current membership year.)

Because of the restrictions made necessary because of Covid-19, this meeting will be held by video conference: the login details for the meeting will be sent to all registrants for the event.  Below is a link to register; please do so by Tuesday 02 June:

The Agenda for the meeting will be as follows:

1. Attendance and apologies.
   
   
2. Brief report on 2019–20 activities by the outgoing Sub-branch Committee.
   
   
3. Election of a Branch Committee.

Tasmania-based AUSIT members, whether or not they have had previous experience on the Sub-branch Committee, are encouraged to consider joining the new Branch Committee and contributing to the further advancement of the Tasmania Branch.  To that end, they need to complete the relevant nomination form, accessible by the link below, have their nomination proposed and seconded by two other AUSIT members, and email it to secretary@ausit.org by close of business on Monday 01 June 2020.  Note that the proposer and seconder cannot be the same person as the nominee.
