We would be delighted to have you joining us for the first online networking session for Greek language Interpreters and Translators.

The session will be dedicated to getting to know other colleagues, hearing their experiences especially in light of the current pandemic, and how Covid-19 and subsequent restrictions have influenced and shaped our work.
What are the new trends and what does the future hold?


Presenter

Despina Amanatidou is a Certified Interpreter and Translator (English>Greek) who works full time as medical interpreter and has over nine years’ experience. Despina has been a member of the AUSIT Victorian/Tasmanian branch committee since 2016.

During this time she has served in various roles such as Communications, Promotions and Public Relations Officer and as Professional Development Coordinator. She was given the opportunity to assist the Organising Committee of the Melbourne Mini-Conference in 2016 and also to co-chair the Organising Committee of the National Conference in 2019. She was also part of the Organising Committee for the 2nd International Conference on Community Translation held in Melbourne in December 2019. Despina at present and among other things is working at delivering the first online T&I conference in Australia to be held in November 2020.

She currently serves in the AUSIT’s executive board as Vice-president for Events and Professional Development. Despina has thorough understanding of all aspects of organising professional development events and is passionate about quality as well as strengthening collaborations between the stakeholders within the T&I industry. Despina fervently supports lifelong learning and in order to practice what she preaches she recently completed her Master of Translating and Interpreting at RMIT University. Her previous training includes a Bachelor in History and Archaeology and Diploma of Italian.
