WA: International Translators Day Celebration

Wednesday 30 September 2020
5.45pm - 8.30pm AWST (WA)

REGISTRATIONS CLOSED

Plus automatic entry to door prize draw for free AUSIT 2020 National Conference registration! (Worth $100)

In recognition of the valuable contribution of translators and interpreters, this day is celebrated by organisations such as the UN and FIT and many others around the world. The date coincides with the death of Saint Jerome, patron saint of translators and known for his translation of part of the bible into Latin.

To join the celebrations, AUSIT WA has organised a group booking with discount full-price tickets to see "The Translators", an audience favourite from the Alliance Francaise French Film Festival.

And that's not all! Each AUSIT member who purchases a ticket will also be entered into a draw to win a free registration for the AUSIT 2020 National Conference "Business as Unusual"! Registration is worth $100 for members, and will be held online over 20 and 21 November (Friday and Saturday). Winner will be notified by SMS by 7 October. Interested to learn more about the conference? More information here.

From 5:45pm: Join us for a beverage at the bar before the film starts. You'll get cheap prices on beer, wine, soft drinks, choc bombs and popcorn at the bar. Please note no food/drink is provided.

6:00pm: Doors to cinema open

6:30-8:30pm: Screening of "The Translators", check out the preview here.

Please reserve your discounted full-price ticket in advance by clicking "Register Here" at the footer of this email, as door sales will be for the regular cinema price and won't include cheap snacks.

On the night, AUSIT will have a registration desk in the lobby area. Please pick up your registration confirmation from us before entering the cinema (don't go to the regular ticket sales counter).

Pricing:

$18 per person for members. Members can purchase one (1) non-member guest ticket for the same price. Non-members can buy full-price tickets from the regular ticket sales counter. This session is also open to the public and seating is unassigned.

(Please note: Student/Healthcare card holder prices are $17 and Senior/Pensioner prices are $16 as part of regular sales, slightly cheaper than our group booking discount. As this session is open to the general public too, those discount holders have the option to buy a ticket on the night from the regular ticket sales counter, subject to availability and with no VIP snack prices.)

Public transport information:

Catch bus 102 or 107 from the city. The bus stop is only a few meters from the cinema door.

Parking information:

Free parking located behind the cinema (off Dalkeith Road)

Any questions, please don't hesitate to email Sally at wa@ausit.org.
