A casual in-person picnic to meet colleagues in Canberra, ACT

Dear ACT Colleagues

We are excited to announce that our postponed picnic event is going to be held on Saturday 5 March 2022.

Translators and interpreters mostly work independently. Due to the hard times in 2020 and 2021, practitioners have had limited opportunities to attend face-to-face events due to restrictions. Despite having technology which enables us to meet through the Internet, face-to-face networking provides more possibilities to communicate with new and old friends.

This event aims to create an opportunity for practitioners to get to know each other well and talk about this year’s plans together.  It is hoped that attendees can enjoy the summertime on the safer grassland outside the Yacht Club.




There will be no a strict procedure.

Practitioners may invite up to five (5) family members as guests; please bring along some finger food and drinks for your picnic.  We will prepare some things onsite including name tags to help attendees get to know each other quicker and easier.


Things to note:

• Previous Registrants need to RE-REGISTER for this event, to ensure we have firm and correct numbers on the day.

• To keep you safe when attending the event, please wear masks. Consider doing a RAT before attending if you can. If you or your family feel unwell, please stay at home to take care of you or your family.

• COVID Precautions:  The ACT is still responding to the threat of COVID-19, and we may have to make adjustments or cancel the event in the weeks leading up the event. We will keep you informed before or on 3 March 2022 (closing date).
