Join this informative webinar for an introduction to search engine optimisation. You will get an overview of SEO and make the first step towards writing SEO-friendly content and adding value to your web content translations.

This webinar is for translators and copywriters who would like to learn more about search engine optimisation and how to include SEO elements in their translations and the content they write. The webinar is also useful for language professionals who are thinking about setting up their own website or who have a website and would like to increase their online visibility and generate more traffic.

The webinar provides an overview of preferred search engines in various countries and the basic elements of SEO – both on-page and off-page. Participants will be introduced to keyword research, the elements of SEO-friendly content, user experience, link building, technical and mobile SEO and how to measure SEO. The focus will be on those SEO elements that translators and content creators are likely to come across, such as title tags, meta descriptions and web page content. We will also explore the art of finding the most appropriate keywords and how to build a strategy around targeting those and thus increasing both online visibility and site traffic.
Participants will have ample opportunity to ask questions and try out what they have learned in a hands-on activity.

Biography - Karoline Spiessl

Karoline Spiessl has been working in search engine optimization since 2009 when she started at an international digital marketing agency in Edinburgh, Scotland. As Senior SEO Account Manager she was leading multinational and multi-channel campaigns for globally operating clients.
She transferred this SEO expertise into her translation practice and regularly writes and translates SEO-friendly content and advises clients on their national and international SEO strategies.
Karoline translates from English, French and Russian into German and also works as conference interpreter for English and German. She is based in Taupō, NZ.
