Are you looking to increase the inclusion and safety of your LGBTIQ+ clients as an interpreter or translator?
‘Lost In Translation’ is a free training program that upskills translators and interpreters on how to work with LGBTIQ+ people from culturally, linguistically and ethnically diverse backgrounds, and ensure community members feel safe, respected and affirmed by our services.
This training will cover:
- Respectful and inclusive LGBTIQ+ terminology.
- How to safely and respectfully talk about LGBTIQ+ experiences in health, social and community settings.
- Safety and inclusion practices to create a respectful and safe environment for LGBTIQ+ clients.
- Practical real-world scenarios of LGBTIQ+ community members accessing translation and interpreter services.
'Lost In Translation’ is delivered in partnership with ACON and AUSIT (Australian Institute of Interpreters & Translators). The delivery of this training has also been funded through Multicultural NSW’s Stronger Together Grants Program.
