Is AI really useful for professional translators and interpreters? The answer is a resounding yes... but the reasons why might surprise you!
Join us for a two-hour workshop that unpacks how GenAI works and exactly how you can leverage it to support your business.
We'll cover all the basics, from confidentiality and environmental responsibility to the latest apps, integrations and workflows.
As a bonus, you'll come away from the workshop with a list of clever prompts for translation/interpreting-adjacent tasks, including research, glossary creation, brainstorming, content creation, and more.
Please note: as the presenter is located in a different time zone, we will first watch a pre-recorded presentation for 2 hours together, and then the presenter will come online for a 30-minute live Q&A at the end of the session.
Presenter Biography - Joachim Lépine, M. Ed.
Joachim (Joe) was born into a French-speaking family in Belgium and grew up in the U.S.A. before moving to Quebec in 2006. When Joe took his first translation course—on a whim—he knew he had found his calling.
Joe went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in translation and a master’s degree in education. In the ensuing years, he translated for a myriad of prestigious clients in Quebec and abroad.
To share his passion for the craft, over the past 15 years, Joe has taught French-into-English translation and related courses at Université de Sherbrooke and trained for NATO, the United Nations, the European Commission, OTTIAQ, Magistrad, Editors Canada, the Translation Bureau, ITI (UK), Training for Translators (USA), and many others.
