Join us for an introductory talk on the topic of cyber security, designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to help you keep on top of digital security.
In today's digital era, cyber security is of paramount importance for translators and interpreters who handle sensitive and confidential information, on both personal and professional levels. In this webinar, participants will develop a deeper understanding of common cyber security threats, learn essential security practices and gain insights into developing incident response plans and risk management strategies.

Biography of our Presenter - Dr. Mahshid Sadeghpour
Mahshid Sadeghpour is a Lecturer in Cyber Security at RMIT University, holding a Ph.D. in Privacy-Preserving Machine Learning. Before joining RMIT, Mahshid worked as a data scientist at the ANU’s Social Research Centre, where she gained valuable industrial experience. In 2022, she was honoured with the Young Scientist Research Prize by the Royal Society of Victoria for her groundbreaking work on privacy protection of biometrics.
Mahshid has developed the first privacy-preserving retinal recognition system and created the first large-scale high-quality synthetic retinal image dataset using data-driven generative modelling. Her contributions have earned her numerous awards for research excellence, innovative teaching, and community outreach.
