Beyond Terminology: Understanding Occupational Therapy for Translators and Interpreters
Webinar Via Zoom Saturday 03 May 2025 3.30 pm - 5.00 pm AEST
Registrations will close on 1 May 2025
Are you a translator or interpreter working in healthcare settings? Join us for an engaging session that goes beyond terminology to unpack the deeper concepts behind Occupational Therapy (OT). This presentation will help you better understand the OT therapeutic process by exploring key terms like “occupation” and “occupation-based practice”—concepts that are central to OT practice. By gaining this contextual knowledge, you'll be better equipped to accurately and confidently interpret or translate OT content.
We’ll present findings from recent studies exploring collaboration between occupational therapists and interpreters, highlighting shared challenges and effective strategies for working together. In addition, we’ll introduce resources designed specifically for translators, including a bilingual glossary and a mobile app.
