NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Dear colleague,

Members are advised that the AUSIT QLD Branch Annual General Meeting for 2025 will be held on Saturday 23 August 2025, during our Big PD Day at the University of Queensland, St. Lucia.

This meeting will be held pursuant to the provisions of Section 8.2.1 of the Constitution. We cordially invite all our QLD members.

Nominations are invited for the 2025-2026 Branch Committee. Please return completed nomination forms to qld@ausit.org by Friday, 22nd August.

The current AUSIT QLD branch would like to extend their welcome to any colleagues who are interested in joining the committee. By joining us, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded professionals, engage in impactful projects, and contribute to the advancement of our profession.

Your participation will not only enrich our endeavours but also provide you with a platform to showcase your skills and expand your network within the translation and interpretation community.

If you'd like to play an active role, simply complete a nomination form. Newcomers to these roles can be assured of the full support of the outgoing office-bearer and the whole committee. 

Some of the benefits of being part of the committee include:

1.  Increased awareness of the inner workings of the industry;
2.  First-hand ability to make a difference in the T/I profession;
3.  Develop new professional relationships and contacts;
4.  Be recognised amongst your peers and employers as actively engaged with the industry;
5.  Allocation of PD points for your active participation in the committee.

Everyone is welcome to attend, but please note that only financial AUSIT members can vote or stand for office. Invitation to join the Qld Branch BIG PD Day

The Qld Branch Big PD Day is our full-day event and includes attendance at the Branch AGM (the AGM is for AUSIT members only). The Big PD Day, will provide an excellent opportunity to delve deeper into key topics discussed during the AGM, engage with expert speakers, and participate in interactive sessions that promise to be both informative and inspiring.

Location

The Qld Branch Big PD Day will take place in rooms 14-116 and 14-132 of the Sir Llew Edwards Building (Building 14) at the UQ St Lucia Campus.

PD Certificates and Recordings

PD Level - Intermediate
As this is a free PD event, no certificates will be issued. Please use your registration confirmation email as proof of participation to claim your PD points.

Please consult the NAATI Recertification Catalogue to allocate the relevant PD Points - downloadable from www.naati.com.au. Some activities can be included under different categories, so please choose the most appropriate category for your recertification purposes.
