Practical Freelancing Skills:
Managing Workload, Wellbeing
and Marketing

Webinar Via Zoom

Tuesday 5 May 2026

6:30 - 8:00 PM AEST

Registrations close midnight, 3 May 2026

In this practical session, French>English translator and French–English conference interpreter Nicola Thayil will share strategies for managing workload, supporting wellbeing, and approaching marketing and pricing with greater confidence and consistency, with a focus on helping freelancers build a more stable and grounded practice.

Freelancing offers flexibility and autonomy – but it also comes with uncertainty, isolation and constant self-management. This practical session is designed to help translators and interpreters navigate everyday freelance challenges, work towards a more sustainable practice and bring greater consistency to their marketing.

Drawing on her own experience, French-to-English translator and interpreter Nicola Thayil will share productivity tips for managing workload, reducing decision fatigue and supporting wellbeing. The session will also touch on approaching marketing and pricing in a confident, values-based way and explore simple marketing actions that can support longer-term work opportunities.

Participants will leave with practical tools, reflective prompts and small, actionable ideas they can trial in their own practice to support both their business and their wellbeing.
