Session 1 (approx. 1 hour): A Case Study of Chinese-English Translation of Traditional Chinese Medicine: Challenges and Strategies
Join us for an engaging online session with Dr Jinyue Wang exploring the challenges and strategies of Chinese > English TCM translation through a real-world case study. From navigating culturally embedded terminology to applying flexible adaptation techniques, this session offers practical insights for translators and interpreters working in healthcare and traditional medicine settings.
Session 2 (approx. 1 hour): Chinese Language Division Networking and Discussion
Following the presentation, AUSIT members working with Chinese are invited to join an informal networking and discussion session. This is an opportunity to connect with colleagues, exchange experiences, discuss industry trends, and build professional networks across translation and interpreting.

Our Presenter - Dr Jinyue Wang
Dr Jinyue Wang has been working as a translator and interpreter for more than three decades in both China and Australia. He is an active researcher and a NAATI-certified translator, and he holds a PhD in Translation Studies. He serves on the committee of the Queensland Branch of the Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators. He is also an expert member of the Translators Association of China and the CATTI Talent Pool of the CICG Academy of Translation and Interpretation. In addition, he is an editor of the Cultural Translation and Literature sections of Open Cultural Studies. His research interests include English–Chinese translation and interpreting, English literature, TESOL, computer-assisted translation and AI-aided translation and interpreting.
